Kaufman & Broad's Construction Schedule To Build The Simpson House

April 1997 - Kaufman & Broad Home Building, FOX Broadcasting, FOX Interactive and Pepsi-Cola Company brainstorm on concept for joint promotion to celebrate THE SIMPSONS' ninth season premiere and Kaufamn and Broad's 40th anniversary.
April 11 - Kaufman & Broad Architecture Group commissioned to design floorplans.
April 13 - Kaufman & Broad design team watches 96 episodes of The Simpsons.
April 20 - Site determined - Henderson, NV - just outside of Las Vegas Kaufman & Broad renames community "Springfield."
April 24 - Schematic design complete - Conceptual floor plans issued.
May 13 - Construction documents submitted to the City of Henderson for Plan Check.
Late May - Building permit issued. (City actually says "Yes!") Construction begins.
June 2 - House staked.
June 7 - Foundation trenched and concrete poured.
June 10 - Underground utilities and post tension cables placed. Architectural interiors and detailing reviews by Kaufman and Broad project team.
June 14 - Concrete floor slab poured.
June 17 - First floor framing completed.
June 18 - Second floor framing completed.
June 20 - Windows installed and heating ducts roughed in. Project team completes frame walk and review of furnishing and fixtures.
June 28 - House passes City framing inspection.
July 5 - Exterior lathing and building inspection completed. Drywall begins.
July 10 - Exterior stucco complete and garage door installed.
July 12 - Drywall complete. Interior doors trimmed and cabinets and counter tops installed.
July 14 - Interior and exterior painted.
July 15 - Trim out electrical and plumbing fixtures. Layout roofing.
July 16 - Start installation of landscaping, fencing and concrete flatwork.
July 21 - Begin installation of set designer fixtures and furnishings.
July 28 - Set gas and electric meters. Start up air-conditioning. Finish landscaping.
July 29 - Installation of fixtures and furnishing completed.
August 1 - Simpson House completed 49 days after the concrete foundation was poured.
